- As the government of India suggested people to work from home, the ecosystem saw some sudden changes. After closing of offices, leaders, and staff going for pay-cuts, Reliance JIO revised its data plan to ease up things.
Just imagine how much the internet is consumed by an office on a daily basis. It’s huge! Bigger the office with more staff more is the consumption of internet. And let’s not talk about eCommerce and totally internet companies! Things have come to a halt after coronavirus popped up.
Busy streets went quiet and overpopulated metros are now deserted even during rush hours. This illustrates a shutdown situation. Employees working from home have been asked to maintain social distancing and take the COVID-19 issue seriously.
Malls, movie halls and almost everything which is capable of a mass gathering are now stranded. It’s done with a hope to be able to stop the virus from growing which has the potential to be lethal. Lethal not only to people but to societies, corporates, nations, and economies.
Working from home sounds easy but comes with challenges. Let’s have a look!
How Easy is Working from Home?
One laptop, it’s a charger, phone and its charger, a table and a chair and an internet connection at home is the requirement of working from home. One great perk is that while working from home you still can spend time with family.
But uninterrupted internet and electricity connection is a must. And during conference calls – a sheer silence professional environment. Realizing this, Reliance JIO came up with something good – which we will talk about a bit later.
How Challenging is to Work from Home?
Family time is the best thing about working from home, it’s a distraction sometimes. It’s irresistible to keep your eye off from the baby trying to climb up the sofa, right? Or when you’re locked up in a room, mister cat wants to check what’s going on!
An internet and electricity connection taken for the office and home are two different things. Internet usage at home for a month is equal to internet usage of an office for merely 7 days. Making sure uninterrupted internet and electricity connection becomes difficult at residential places.
For a company whose major revenue comes from the streets and by movements of people, it wouldn’t do much with working from home. Communicating, productivity and clearance everything is hampered and it takes some days to get into the sudden system.

- ₹101 recharge will give you – 12GB data with 1K non-JIO calling minutes. It was 6GB earlier.
Revised plans are rolled out in a hope to make working from home of JIO users easy, affordable and uninterrupted (in case of the internet). There are additional plans that can be purchased by the users once they exhaust their existing plans to avoid paying IUC charges of 6 paise per minute.
Companies like Google, Microsoft, Cisco, and Zoho are offering free access to their premium remote collaboration services for a limited time. All these initiatives are taken just to make sure that coronavirus is stopped from spreading.
Summing Up:
With companies closing offices, malls and cinema halls closing their booking counters, bleeding stock market, pay-cuts in salaries and everyone being asked to work home, maybe it is not a complete shutdown.
But all this signals that there is something serious on the streets and we should not take it lightly. Thank you Reliance JIO for providing more value during these tough times.
