Amazon India favorite employer brand, says REBR 2019

  • Amazon India tops the survey by REBR for the most favored brand by employees
  • Microsoft India and Sony India grab the 2nd and 3rd Position.
  • Only 2 Indian companies make it to the top 10.

Amazon India, the E-Commerce giant is the most attractive employer brand of the country followed by Microsoft India and Sony India. The survey was conducted by Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2019, released on Monday. Amazon scored brilliantly on financial health, utilization of the latest technologies and a strong reputation.

Summary of 2019 report

Top 10 most attractive employer brands in India for 2019 includes Mercedes Benz at 4th, IBM at 5th, L&T at 6th, Nestle at 7th, Infosys at 8th, Samsung at 9th and Dell at 10th position.

REBR inducted Google India in Hall of Fame for winning the title thrice in a row.

Salary and employee benefits, followed by work-life balance and job security are important factors which drive the Indian workforce.

The survey also stated that the majority of Indians (55%) prefer to work for a large multi-national corporation. Only 9% of the Indian workforce prefers startups.

Choosing multi-national companies (MNCs) over startups are due to factors such as job security, financial health, and career progression opportunities.

Sectors like IT, ITeS and Telecom (67%), Retail, FMCG, and E-commerce(67%), followed by Automotive (66%) and BFSI (65%) topped the charts of the most preferred sector.

Comparison with REBR 2018

As compared to 2018, ITC Group, Hindustan Unilever and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) lost their place in top 10. Nestle, Infosys, and Dell make a new entry to the top 10.

Job Security, employee benefits, work-life balance, and career progression remain the driving force factors for Indian Workforce.

Retail and FMCG took over the automobile industry and IT maintained its top position in the sector-wise result.
