Google Cloud recently made headlines by announcing that it has hired Amitabh Jacob as the Head of Partnerships and Alliances for India. Under this role, Mr. Jacob will be the one who will drive Google’s route-to-market strategy through various key partnerships, resellers, managed service providers, technology partnership, and various system integrators.

Hiring Amitabh Jacob is certainly a wise decision as he brings 20 years of experience to the table. One of the most important experiences that make him suitable for this role is the fact that he was Head of Partners and Alliances at Amazon Web Services. In this role, he was the driving force in building and scaling various cloud partnerships particularly in the India region.

Ash Willis, who is the head of Cloud Partnerships and Alliances for Google Cloud in the Asia Pacific and Japan talked about this new hire which is aimed at growing their business in India. He said, “India is a key growth market for Google Cloud, and Amitabh is joining us at an exciting time.”

Amitabh Jacob also spoke about his new role. He said “With only 10% of global workloads estimated to be in the cloud, adoption is still very nascent and companies are really only just getting started. I believe there is a massive opportunity out there and I am thrilled to be part of Google Cloud at this crucial point in its growth story.”

Mr. Jacob main role will be to help more Google Cloud products penetrate the Indian market, drive more success for the brand through Google’s Cloud partnership models, and to build better channel capacity and competency for the brand. Mr. Jacob will be based out of the Bangalore office.

We wish him all the very best for his new role!
