Apple is all set to launch new products in the market, one of which includes upcoming streaming service Apple TV Plus. It is set to be launched on November 1st for $4.99 per month, the company announced today. The monthly cost includes family access, and you’ll even get a whole year free of Apple TV Plus if you buy a new iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.

For the Indian Market, the price of Apple TV Plus is Rs. 99 ($1.38) which is 72 percent cheaper than the original price and cheaper than what Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hotstar offer in India.

People will get three months after activating their new device to claim the offer, as per the press release. If the device belongs to the category purchased and activated before Apple TV Plus launches, customers will have three months starting November 1st. It also introducing family pack which means six family members will share one Apple TV Plus subscription and watch using their own Apple ID and password. It is important to note that the subscription will be renewed automatically at $4.99 per month after one year.

With the price offering of $4.99 per month, Apple TV Plus sits directly below two of its major competitors- Netflix and Disney. The worldwide streaming leader Netflix’s most popular plan is currently available for $12.99 a month, and Disney+ is set to launch on November 12th for $6.99 a month. Disney will also offer its own bundle with ad-supported Hulu and sports streaming service, ESPN+, for $12.99 a month.

The launch of Apple TV Plus.

One question which is unanswered that, will the TV plus get subscribers. Apple is launching its service with only a few key series, including Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston’s The Morning Show and Hailee Steinfeld’s drama series about poet Emily Dickinson, Dickinson. This stands nowhere close to the content Netflix has and unlike Disney+, Apple doesn’t have the backing of famous and adored titles to watch.

Apple increased its content budget from $1 billion to more than $6 billion and is committed to publishing original content to TV Plus. Apple is also spending close to $15 million an episode on some of the biggest shows, including The Morning Show and the Jason Momoa-led sci-fi series, See. It also purchased the distribution rights to Dads, a documentary by actress and filmmaker Bryce Dallas Howard which is about fatherhood around the world, at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Apart from this, Apple launched iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max With Triple Rear Cameras in India. The price for the iPhone 11 Pro is Rs. 99,900 and the price for the iPhone Pro Max are Rs. 1,09,900.

With giant such as Apple entering the OTT space at with such aggressive pricing, the fight for the growing popular video space is getting intense. With giants such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Disney+ and local players such as VOOT, Sony Liv, ALT Balaji already having a fan base, the fight in Indian OTT space will be a treat to watch.
