iMumz Journey to a Known Pregnancy StartUp
Ravi Teja and Mayur Dhurpate graduated from IIT BHU in 2017. They both got a high paying corporate job. High paycheck did not attract them. They wanted to do something for the country. After going through different ideas, they chose the pregnancy health niche for the startup.
With a mission of healthy India, Ravi and Mayur thought to develop an app related to pregnancy issues. After including Dr. Jaideep Malhotra and their mentor cum life coach Rajesh Jagasia, they started working on the iMumz app in 2017. The app was launched in November 2019. It is a Banglore based company.
iMumz app provides consultation and guidance to pregnant women online. In the lockdown period, it became very popular. They provide research-based expert advice. Not only pregnancy guidance, but the app also helps in systematic baby growth.
Ask Me Anything(AMA) sessions, mental exercises, and meditation services are some of the noted features of the app. In the lockdown period, the iMumz conducted more than 100 sessions online with the help of medical experts. Obstetricians, Nutritionist, and Yoga experts were called for these AMA sessions.
Different medical studies suggest that child personality development is directly related to the mother’s behavior at the pregnancy level. iMumz included different features to make things smooth for pregnant women. Dr. Jaideep said, “maximum diseases origin is the womb of the mother, that is why we started this special online service for healthy India”
Dr. Jaideep, the cofounder of iMumz, is a gynecologist. She has helped in delivering around 10000 babies in her medical career.
Due to the Covid situation, most of the doctors are not attending to patients except for emergency cases. Women can’t go for regular checkups. Considering the situation, iMumz is providing 5-6 live AMA sessions.
