Moments after Apple unveiled its picks for 2019’s best iOS apps and games, Google announced its annual winners for Best of Play. The list highlights apps and games that Google claims have been Android’s best over the past year, and unlike Apple, it also contains a User’s Choice tab that shows the results of Google’s surveys that have been running on Android for the past few weeks.
User Choice Award Winners:
Best Game: Call Of Duty: Mobile
Call of Duty: Mobile beat PUBG Mobile and Fortnite to secure both the Users’ Choice and Google Title- best Android game of the year. But the nominations for Users’ Choice Game included Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, Angry Birds Dream Blast, Harry Potter: Unite Wizards, and more. In contrast, the year’s Apple title was a much less popular one called Sky: Children of the Light.

It saw a whopping 14.6 crore installs across the platforms last month. The countries generating the maximum installs were the United States at 16 per cent and India at 11 per cent.
“The 2019 Best Game should be fun, accessible, and deliver compelling, playable gameplay that is a blast. It also needs to push the boundaries of what we’re expecting on mobile, and the winner this year does all that without skipping a beat, “Google wrote in the Play Store post.
Interestingly, Indian game- “Indian Air Force: A Cut Above” the IAF game developed by Delhi-based Threye Interactive also found space in the nomination list.
