After announcing around a year and a half later Facebook has finally launched it in the US taking the total number of countries where the service is available is 20.
Currently, the feature of Dating is available includes the US, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Guyana, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, Suriname, Thailand, Uruguay, and Vietnam.

Facebook also said that it will launch it’s dating service in Europe in early 2020. Although, there is no word about the launch of the app in India despite India being one of the biggest markets of Facebook.
Apart from this feature, the social media giant also rolled out a number of new features coming to its dating service. Soon, people will start connecting through their Facebook and Instagram stories.
“Today people are asked to make a decision as to whether or not they like someone immediately based on a static profile. To help you show, rather than tell, who you are, we’re bringing Stories to Dating,” Facebook wrote in a blog post. However, this feature isn’t live yet and it will be available on Facebook Dating by the end of the year.
In addition to all these new features, Facebook is introducing its Secret Crush feature, which was also announced at F8 2019 earlier this year. This means the users of this service will be able to look for romantic relationships among their circle of friends. Although, this feature will include Instagram. So the users will have to connect their facebook dating profiles with their Instagram profiles, this will result in the users can look for partners from their Instagram followers as well.
Facebook also mentioned in the blog about security which said it will be a dedicated space within the Facebook app, and we won’t share your dating activity to your Facebook profile or News Feed. You control who on social media platform can see your Dating profile.
Facebook said in the blog post, “Show aspects of your life to others, and find shared connections that spark conversation,” Facebook added in its blog post which means the users of Facebook dating will be able to share their Instagram posts in their Dating profiles.
With Facebook rolling out the dating it will directly compete with the online dating giants such as Tinder. With the online dating industry becoming huge with growing internet and smartphone users, this competition will be worth a watch.
