Facebook Launches Dating – An App to Find Love
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Facebook is not just content with helping you stay connected with your friends, it also wants to help you find love! It has just begun to test out its app, Dating, at a public level and the service is open in 19 countries around the world. Recently, the app made headlines for launching a brand new feature known as Secret Crush. In this feature, you can select at least 9 friends that you may have a secret crush on. If they are using the Dating app, they will receive a notification that someone anonymous has a crush on them. What’s more, if they have also listed you out as a secret crush, the two of you will get a match notification.

One of the things that make Dating different from other apps like Tinder is that they offer users the opportunity to meet in real life, and not just depend on talking to each other through the app. This means that when a user logs into the app, they can see the different events and matches that the app is recommending to them, based on their personality and preferences. As a result of this, people can go out to events and meet others over there, instead of waiting to be matched with through the app.

Through that, they can go on and indicate their interest in another person and then begin chatting. Having met someone in real life first, this app offers a way for people to feel safe when connecting with other people online. This is one of the many features that this app offers that makes it different from its competitors.

Moreover, the app is also offering privacy and it promises that friends and family will not be able to tell that you are using a Dating app, even if they are friends with you on Facebook.

It makes sense for the social media giant to step out of its comfort zone and fewer millennials use this website these days. Most youngsters rely on other social media platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, and even Tik-Tok, which, in other news, is not being banned.
