- Google’s Tangi app is all ready to compete for head to head with the TikTok app.
- Tik-Tok is 2nd most downloaded app in 2019 due to which a plethora of similar apps have been rolling out but none matched Tik-Tok’s growth and popularity.
- For now, it’s only available for iOS users. Android users have to wait for an undisclosed time.
We all know the level of popularity of the Tik-Tok app and its hype among the users. This short video app is the reason why so many people (and their videos) are trending like anything on the internet.
Realizing this, a plethora of apps like Cheez, Vigo Video, LIKE, Dubsmash and many more rolled out but none of them matched the level and popularity of this short video app.
But this time, our friendly search engine giant Google decides to come up with its new-new app Tangi! Google’s Tangi app is a short video app that allows users to create a 60 seconds video (just like all other apps mentioned above)
What’s so special about Google’s Tangi App?
Exactly! That’s the question worth asking. Well, if 60 seconds video is the similarity then the kind of videos and their classification is the big differentiation (or uniqueness) in Google’s Tangi app.
While on Tiktok all the videos are tagged under the entertainment category, Google’s Tangi app took the short video platform to a whole new level. The app allows users to create videos related to art, cooking, DIY, fashion, beauty and lifestyle categories.
If you’re someone who creates videos that adds value to the viewer’s learning and experience, then Google’s Tangi app has your back.
The timing of Tangi app couldn’t have been better. With increasing users on Tik-Tok, the app has always been in talks that it’s merely wasting youth and their time by creating not so relevant videos.
Talks are not only about the kind of videos TikTok users have been rolling out from time to time, but the platform’s security and privacy were also questioned. There are concerns raised about this app everywhere in the world. In fact, there was a time when the Indian government wanted to shut TikTok in India.
Google and trust can never be separated. Where else we would search our darkest query if it’s not Google? With the Tangi app, one shouldn’t be bothered about privacy or security because our very own Sundar Pichai is leading the tech giant from the front.
Things You Need to Know About Google’s Tangi App:
First things first, Google’s Tangi app is an experimental social video sharing app with quick DIY videos that help people learn new things every day. With every 60 second video you watch, you’re not only entertained, but you get to learn something new EVERY TIME!
TeAch aNd GIve & tangible – is the source of inspiration for naming this app. Teach and give! Isn’t it a wonderful idea to support an app?
Google’s Tangi app shows vertical videos in a perpetual scroll. While scrolling up and down the timeline is cliché, this app’s interface is very much different as compared to other apps with (more or less) the same idea of short video creation.
This app is available everywhere but not in the European Union. Nobody knows the reason (Google’s app, Google’s rules maybe)
For the time being only iOS users can have fun creating compelling videos on the Google Tangi app. It’s still not yet disclosed when Google will be launching Tangi on the android platform. (Why is Google ignoring its own platform?)
The power to upload videos on Google’s Tangi app is not with everyone. Users need to join a waitlist to get full access to services. Once again, Google is concerned about video quality as well as user profiles that are willing to upload videos.
Tangi app is free to download and born out of its Area 120 lab.
Conclusion:
Finally, there is an app that is ready to give head-to-head completion to Tik-Tok which is huge in the short video category.
While Tik-Tok completely disrupted famous social platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, it’s time for Tik-Tok to come up with something “out of the box” or else Google’s Tangi app is definitely taking it down.
It’s wonderful to see Google entering the short-video category with its Tangi app and hopefully, users would love the platform. While this app is still an experimental project, hopes are as high as Google’s market cap!
Time will tell how successful the project is, but all in all, it definitely looks like an interesting app. On behalf of Next Big Brand, we wish all the very best to Google and its Tangi app.
