“In the Best Cover Category, Our graphic novel was against old players such as Campfire & Amar Chitra Katha. We were up against giants and still, we made our mark which shows that the audience loves the new concepts. The cover which won was designed by two college freshers who made it in 3 days and it went to win the award.”
“My favorite nomination is which didn’t win the award is Fan Favorite Publisher Of The Year. We were nominated alongside players such as Simon & Schuster, Hachette India, Penguin Random House, Amar Chitra Katha. These are the organizations we look up to and sharing the podium with them in such a short span is indeed a moment of pride for all of us at Indusverse”
Comic-Con India (CCI) is a series of annual conventions focused on comics, organized in India. The first edition took place in New Delhi in 2011 and has expanded over the years to include other major Indian cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, and Ahmadabad. Already all these towns are having annual comic cons. These five cities cumulatively draw over 200,000 visitors with more than 1200 exhibitors. Comic-Con India ‘s creator Jatin Varma opened the first comic con in Delhi, India in 2011.
Indusverse winning such awards within 8 months of the launch of their comic book series show that they are going in the right direction with their vision of youth-oriented stories and the way of storytelling loved by the millennials. Recently, I was interacting with both the founders of Indusverse and their vision towards bringing the new age storytellers was crystal clear which reflects in their recent win.
