- Statista surveyed 15,000 respondents from more than 50 countries to gather data
- Indian company Infosys is at number 3
- First two positions are taken up by Visa and Ferrari respectively
Forbes partnered with Statista to complete 2019’s annual list of the world’s 2,000 biggest public companies to the top 250 highly regarded firms ranked on the basis of trustworthiness, social behaviour, the strength of their products and services, and how they work as employers. To gather data, Statista surveyed 15,000 respondents from more than 50 countries.
In the list of World’s Best Regarded Companies, IT Major Infosys was ranked third, along with the global payment technology business Visa and the Italian carmaker Ferrari in the first and second place respectively.
Trustworthiness and business efficiency go hand in hand with credit card suppliers, so it’s no wonder that Visa gained the top place in our third annual World’s Best Regarded Companies list in the same year that its stock price rose to record highs by more than 30 percent. The business based in San Francisco climbed three places from last year to take Walt Disney’s No. 1 ranking.
Other Indian Companies in the List:
In the list of World’s Best Regarded Companies, IT Major Infosys was ranked third. Infosys jumped from 31st place in 2018 to the third place.
The leading position of Infosys in the rankings banner is the sign of an Asian invasion,” Forbes said.
The coveted list included Indian businesses Tata Consultancy Services (22nd position) and Tata Motors (31) among the top 50.
Other Indian companies in the list include Tata Steel (105), Larsen & Toubro (115), Mahindra & Mahindra (117), HDFC (135), Bajaj Finserv (143), Piramal Enterprises (149), Steel Authority of India (153), HCL Technologies (155), Hindalco Industries (157), Wipro (168), HDFC Bank (204), Sun Pharma Industries (217), General Insurance Corporation Of India (224), ITC (231) and Asian Paints (248).
The International Players:
Talking about the international list, the remaining top ten businesses in the 2019 list are Netflix in fourth place, followed by PayPal (5), Microsoft (6), Walt Disney (7), Toyota Motor (8), Mastercard (9), Costco Wholesale (10).
The US dominated the list as 59 of the 250 businesses on the list are home to it. Japan, China and India are the next three most-represented nations.
Japan, China and India have 82 companies on the list together, up from last year’s 63.
About half of the top 250 businesses are based in Asia, making it the most dominant continent,” Forbes said.
