How Gametion Achieved $20 Million Revenue?
Vikash Jaiswal, the founder of Gametion, was a great fan of online gaming. After completing his schooling in Patna, he joined MIT, Orissa to do Computer Science Engineering.
He developed the “Eggy Boy” game as part of partial fulfillment for a Graduate degree. The game brought a good name for him. At that time, Eggy Boy was selected as Game of the month by PCQuest magazine. He joined India Games Ltd as Tech Lead.
After working for 4 years, he started his own gaming company Gametion in 2008. He invested Rs 2.5 Lakh in Gametion. With a team of 7 people, he developed browser supported games initially. Later, he developed Android and iOS supported games.
Vikash came up with the idea of the Ludo game in 2015. Lockdown made the game very popular.
The company earns revenue through advertisements and in-app purchases. 30% of revenue comes from in-app purchases. The company has a plan to improve in App purchases segment.
Ludo King is the Main Source of Revenue for the company. As per the sensor tower report, Ludo King was the fifth most downloaded game worldwide with a total of 26.8 million downloads in April 2020.

Ludo King was launched in 2016. In the lockdown period, the Ludo King platform had approximately 32 million daily active users(DAU). On average, the game observed monthly traffic of 142 million. A user spends around 30 minutes in 2-3 sessions daily.
Slowly, offices started opening after a lockdown of approximately 9 months. The company knew that now users can’t give more time. Gametion launched quick ludo mode to attract users.
The quick mode requires 5 minutes to finish the game. Earlier, a user took around 20-35 minutes to complete a standard ludo game.
Ludo King has become the first Indian game to cross 100 million installs on Google Play. Currently, Ludo King stands strong with a total of 500 Million+ downloads. 6 million users’ average rating of 4.3 tells a story of huge success.
The company is planning to add video/audio chat features in Ludo King. Now, 5-6 players can also participate in a single ludo game.
Gametion Sudoku King has a total of 500K+ downloads with an average 4.4 user rating. While Carrom King is another popular Gametion game. It has a total of 10 million+ downloads with a 4.1 user rating.
Currently, the company has around 70 employees. Gametion has a total of 200 servers to handle the online traffic.
Coming days will bring more good news for the online Indian Gaming industry. It is expected to be a $1 billion value industry by 2021. It will achieve a total of around 300 million online Indian gamers by the end of the year.
