With 9 billion video views watched in a month Mitron, a short-form video app has gained huge viewership on its website & saw 33 million downloads.

Speaking about the development, Founder & CEO Shivank Agarwal Mitron said “The c

Seeing millions of new videos produced on the Mitron website is incredible. We would like to thank all our users who used this app as their regular entertainment dose.’

In April 2020, co-founders Shivank Agarwal, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and Anish Khandelwal, an alumnus of the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology in Nagpur, launched the Mitron app intending to create a short-form video app that reimagines digital interaction and entertainment.

“We see good traction from smaller towns and cities across the country, with cities such as Karnal, Hubli, Bhavnagar, Aligarh, Ludhiana, and Vijayawada clocking more than 100,000 users,” added Shivank.

The idea behind the development of the app was to have a website that would allow users to upload and view a variety of short videos. To see Mitron ‘s product rise in popularity within a short period is exciting.

Anish Khandelwal, co-founder & CTO said, “Whilst our user growth is very promising, our efforts are based on growing user engagement and retention. — consumer watches an average of 80 videos every day and with several new product features, we are sure that we will continue to increase engagement.

Sharing his views with Next Big Brand, Shivank Agarwal, CEO, Mitron said, ” Before TikTok ban also, we were doing great in terms of number. With time we have improved upon retention number and engagement time. Our cumulative video views have also increased. After the TikTok ban, we have registered 4 to 5 times growth and it has been an exciting journey”

On talking about competition, he said, ” We were in the market when TikTok was also there. The short video market is huge and you have a lot of segments to serve. The player who can provide a constant  experience will lead the way.”

Talking about vision Shivank said, ” We want to give creators a good experience and our vision is to grow together with the community.”
