Indian short-format video app Mitron today confirmed two senior hires to strengthen its leadership team. Chandan Chhabra joins as VP of Operations, and as VP of Marketing, Nisha Pokhariyal joins. Chandan will create SoPs in his new position, drive productivity across multiple departments and concentrate on company strategic planning. Nisha Pokhariyal will be responsible for heading the overall brand marketing efforts of Mitron and speeding up the growth trajectory of the start-up. Nisha and Chandan will both work closely with Shivank Agarwal and Anish Khandelwal, Mitron’s co-founders.
Chandan was one of the founding members and director of Customer Service & Content Quality at OLX India prior to joining Mitron, where he led content strategy and operations across markets in South Asia. With 17 years of experience spread through various industries such as BPO, Telecom, BFSI, E-Commerce, Auto, and Edtech, Chandan is an IIM-A alumnus.
He is also a Certified Customer Experience Professional (CCXP), a Master of Accredited Customer Experience, a CX Mentor (ACXM, ACX-Mentor), and the first Accredited Customer Experience Specialist (ACXS) in Asia.
Nisha worked as associate director of marketing for VMate, Alibaba Mobile Business group’s short video app. For well-known campaigns such as # VMateAsliHoliBaaz and # GharBaitheBanoLakhpati among others, she has been responsible for handling end-to-end integrated marketing. Having worked at Dentsu Webchutney and IPAN, Nisha has a career of over 10 years. She is a Human Factors International accredited usability analyst. Nisha was also the official torchbearer for the 2018 South Korean Winter Olympics.

Recently, Mitron has raised $5 million in funding led by Nexus Venture Partners and has been dubbed as India‘s response to TikTok. The round also saw participation on LetsVenture from established investors 3one4 Capital and from the private syndicate of Arun Tadanki.
