An undisclosed amount of funding from 9Unicorns has been received by Mitron TV, the short video site that took on TikTok just as it was banned in India. The funding comes after Nexus Venture Partners secured an investment of $5 million (almost 37 crores) in August and $2 crore of pre-seed round funding from 3one4 Capital in July.
Marquee Angel investors such as Deep Kalra, Chairman, MakeMyTrip, Amrish Rau, CEO, Pine Labs, Amarjit Batra, Managing Director, Spotify India, Radhika Ghai, co-founder, Shopclues, and others are also funding the company.

In categories such as social media, lifestyle, utility, gaming, e-commerce, and government, the platform lists domestic applications.
The start-up claims to have more than 9 million Android Play Store downloads, with an average of more than 11 billion monthly views.
The app has also recently introduced categories for users to create curated content, such as entertainment, food, fun, sports, travel, education, inspiration, dance, lifestyle, music, health, and fitness, among others, within its video platform.
Recently, Mitron confirmed two senior hires to strengthen its leadership team. Chandan Chhabra joins as VP of Operations, and as VP of Marketing, Nisha Pokhariyal joins. Chandan will create SoPs in his new position, drive productivity across multiple departments, and concentrate on company strategic planning. Nisha Pokhariyal will be responsible for heading the overall brand marketing efforts of Mitron and speeding up the growth trajectory of the start-up. Nisha and Chandan will both work closely with Shivank Agarwal and Anish Khandelwal, Mitron’s co-founders.
