Previously known as Gujarat Ambuja Cement Limited – Ambuja Cements our leading cement producing company is now doing a little bit of restructuring this year.
Bimlendra Jha’s current CEO will be stepping down from his post and Neeraj Akhoury will be the new CEO of Ambuja Cements.
Bimlendra Jha started his less than a year stint at Ambuja Cements are MD & CEO of the company on 1st March 2019. He took over Ajay Kapur – the man has been associated with Ambuja Cements for more than 26 years.

Bimlendra Jha – our ceramic engineer from IIT Varanasi and PGD in business management, marketing & finance from XLRI Jamshedpur.
Before joining Ambuja Cements, Bimlendra Jha was closely linked with Tata Steel Limited. For not less than 3 decades. Throughout his journey with Tata Steels, he played a number of roles including CEO of Tata Steel UK, executive director on board of Tata Steels Europe taking care of UK, Sweden and Canada’s operations.
Neeraj Akhoury – The Assumed CEO of Ambuja Cements:
On 20th Feb, Neeraj Akhoury will be the new CEO of Ambuja Cements. With more than 25 years of experience in the steel and cement industries, it’s a win-win situation for both parties.
Neeraj Akhoury has worked in leadership roles in India and other markets. His career started with Tata Steel in 1993 and joined Lafarge Holcim Group in 1999.
An economist and an MBA from the University of Liverpool, he’s a man carrying experience, integrity and leadership qualities.
With Neeraj Akhoury leading from the front, Ambuja Cements is preparing to have sound, relaxing and upwards journey.

Shares of Ambuja Cements were the last trading in BSE at ₹205.07 as compared to the previous close of ₹ 205.95. The stock hit an intraday high of ₹ 210.2 intraday low of ₹ 204.55. The net turnover during the day amounted to ₹ 22896912.
