Ola Electric scooters S1 and S1 Pro are being booked at swift speed as they received a huge response on the first day of the booking process on Wednesday. According to Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO and co-founder of Ola Electric, the Chennai-based electric vehicle producer is receiving bookings for at least four electric scooters per second.
Aggarwal took to Twitter to bestow the buyers’ response to the company’s e-scooters. “Floodgates to the revolution are truly open! We’re selling 2 scooters every second! India is rejecting petrol and choosing electric. Purchase now open for everyone who’s reserved! Buy yours now on the Ola App!” he said in a tweet.
The founder also stated on Thursday “India is committing to EVs and rejecting petrol!” They’ve sold 4 scooters/sec at peak & sold scooters worth 600Cr+ on day one!
Ola Electric scooters will have battery output of 2.98 kWh for the S1 model, while the other expensive S1 Pro model will have an amplified output of 3.97 kWh. The S1 Pro also has a bit higher top speed of 115 kmph with greater acceleration. It has three drive modes, including Hyper which is exclusive to the S1 Pro model.
Ola Electric is marketing its electric scooters directly to its customers through the app, without any dealers involved. Today is the last day, the EV Ola scooter purchase will shut at midnight.
Ola started the trade of its e-scooters S1 and S1 Pro on Wednesday through its app. The corporation said it is beginning the purchase in lots and prioritizing users based on their dates of booking.
The e-scooters are being manufactured at the Ola Futurefactory near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. At full capability, Ola expects its 10,000 workforces will be able to roll out two million units yearly. Ola also aims to export its electric scooters to international markets like the USA, Australia, and Latin America.
