OnePlus recently launched the most awaited next-generation flagships OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in India. Although announced together, OnePlus kept the release of the more affordable OnePlus version for next month to give the Pro variant some time to establish. The gamble paid off for the brand as Amazon India has recently announced that within a week of its launch, the OnePlus 7 Pro has become the fastest selling high-end smartphone.

The smartphone that went on sale for the first time on May 16th for Amazon Prime users, followed by all Amazon customers on May 17th, is being offered in three variants. The 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 256GB and 12GB RAM + 256GB variants are being sold for Rs 48,999, Rs 52,999, and Rs 57,999, respectively.

The fact that this is the most expensive OnePlus flagship ever clearly didn’t stop the brand loyalists to pick up the smartphone. Since OnePlus has a massive fan following in India, the pop-up events and sale on Amazon as well as OnePlus.in, OnePlus Exclusive stores and partner offline stores witnessed a large response. While Amazon India confirmed that the Pro variant has become the fastest selling smartphone north of Rs 45,000 in just one week, the website didn’t reveal the exact number of units sold.

To give you guys a revision of the specifications, the smartphone flaunts a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and HDR 10+ support. The display also flaunts a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The company is also calling it a Fluid AMOLED display panel because of the 90Hz refresh rate. At its core, the phone features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. On the software front, the handset boots Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS out of the box. In the imaging department, you get 48MP + 16MP wide-angle + 8MP telephoto setup on the back and 16MP elevating selfie camera on the front. A 4,000mAh battery with OnePlus’ new Warp Charge 30 technology completes the spec sheet.

OnePlus 7 is slated to go on sale next month and it comes with a more affordable price tag starting from Rs 32,999.

It would be interesting to see how it fares without the elevating selfie camera and 90Hz curved display.
