Punjab Also Ties Up with Online Retailers and eCommerce Stores –
Soon after permitting various eCommerce stores to deliver essentials to people, Punjab police also got associated with Zomato and Swiggy in order to maintain peace on the streets.
Punjab became the first state to impose a curfew, a day before the national lockdown was witnessed. Chief Minister – Amarinder Singh announced that all essential items would be delivered to residents at their doorstep.
Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta said in a media statement on Wednesday that in order to streamline the system, police approached eCommerce stores because they already had the requisite infrastructure in place.
In Ludhiana and Amritsar, 650 delivery agents of Swiggy were engaged in-home delivery of groceries and pharmaceuticals while Patiala was associated with Zomato and Swiggy both.
Summing Up –
It should be a sigh of relief for people to know that they don’t need to move to wander out of their homes in search of essentials like groceries and other essentials. Just like old times, online retailers and eCommerce stores have taken the responsibility to deliver things right outside the doorstep.
While you deliver essentials from these online retailers, don’t forget to help the deliver people sanitize themselves.
