Ponty Chadha Foundation unveils trophy for ‘PCF Cup’ Cricket Season III

PCF Cup Session III

Owing to the success of the first two seasons, the Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) is all set to kick off the third season of the PCF Cup tournament (Corporate Cricket Edition) from 6th March 2021 in partnership with Citiskape Mediacom. It is a two-week-long tournament culminating on 25th March 2021.

PCF Cup Previous Sessions and Other Details

The glittering trophy of the tournament was unveiled today at The Park Hotel, New Delhi in the eminent presence of Chief Guest – Shri Manoj Kumar Upadhyay, Director and the Deputy Advisor, Energy & International Cooperation, NITI Aayog, Government of India and Guest of Honour – Mr. Hariom Kaushik, Vice President, Haryana Olympic Association. Other dignitaries who were present at the launch event were Mr. Rajiv Gupta, MD Wave Group, Mr. H.S. Kandhari, Director, Wave Estate, Dr. Vandana Sharma, Director, Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN) and Manoj Attri, Founder Citiskape Mediacom and creator PCF Cup.

The third edition of the PCF Cup will be featuring 16 participating teams, each representing different corporate giants. These include Aaj Tak, Dabur, Maruti Suzuki, KK Modi Group, HDFC Bank, SBI Card, TEVA, WAVE, The Statesman, Properazzi Realty Pvt Ltd, Resource Logistics, Transsion India Ltd, Celebi India, P&P, TMM magazine, and HCL.

On the trophy unveiling, Mr. Manpreet Singh Chadha, Chairman, Wave Group, said:

“We are delighted to be hosting another season of the PCF Cup. This tournament provides a remarkable platform for the cricketing talent in the corporate world to enjoy the sports that they love, while also fostering a collaborative environment amongst fellow professionals. PCF has been dedicatedly working in the field of education, skill development, health, and sports promotion. This is one of the many earnest initiatives of the foundation towards creating positive social impact and we are really looking forward to it.”

With an aim to promote sports in India, The PCF Cup is one of the most impassioned initiatives of The Ponty Chadha Foundation in association with Citiskape Mediacom, which provides a unique platform to avid cricketers and sports enthusiasts from the corporate world to showcase their talent.

The PCF Cup Cricket Season III will be conducted in accordance with the playing conditions similar to a standard T20 tournament in India.

Elaborating on the tournament, Mr. H.S. Kandhari, Director, Wave Estate, said:

“Pandemic induced stress has taken its toll on both our physical and mental well-being, therefore, focus on our health and active lifestyle had taken a backseat. This tournament has been timed to bring back the focus on physical fitness and re-energise our social bubble with sports enthusiasts.”

About Ponty Chadha Foundation

Initiated by Mrs. Jatinder Kaur Chadha in September 2014, in the memory of her late husband, the erstwhile visionary Chairman of the Wave Group, Mr. Ponty Chadha, The Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) is the CSR arm of the Wave Group. The foundation addresses areas pertaining to hunger and food security, community health, education and skill training, sports for children and corporate employees and running awareness drives for sanitation, women safety & fitness among others.

PCF Cup Schedule

One of the prominent initiatives undertaken by the foundation is Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN), a one-of-its-kind school in the country, founded in 1999 for specially able children in the areas of education, vocational training, occupational and physical therapy, and capacity building.

The completely free provisions have empowered around 25000 especially able children to date. PCF Cup-Cricket, PCF Football League, are some of the initiatives by the Foundation for creating awareness about sports and encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle in the community.

24th March: Semi-Finals
25th March: Finals
