Sachin Tendulkar, the former Indian cricketer, has invested $2 million in JetSynthesys to join the existing investors including Adar Poonawalla and Kris Gopalakrishnan. Earlier, the startup joined hands with Sachin to launch two gaming platforms: Sachin Saga Cricket Champions, Sachin Saga VR, and digital destination for all things cricket, 100MB.
JetSynthesys Raises $2 Million
In a recent financial event on July 29, 2021, JetSynthesys has closed a deal of $2 million equity investment from ex-cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
With the current investment, Sachin has joined the league of Serum Institute of India’s CEO Adar Poonawalla, and digital entrepreneur Kris Gopalakrishnan, and others as the shareholders of JetSynthesys, an online gaming platform company.
In an earlier association with legendary cricketers, the gaming firm launched two cricket-based online games named Sachin Saga Cricket Champions, Sachin Saga VR, and a digital destination for all things cricket, 100MB.
Sachin Saga Cricket Champions is one of the successful gaming platforms having over 20+ lakh downloads. It recorded exponential growth and doubled its daily user base last year, as claimed by Rajan Navani, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JetSynthesys.
100MB’s progress is slow compared with Sachin Saga. Navani and the team believe that it will grow significantly with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and World Cup launch in the coming months.
JetSynthesys Growth
In 2020, JetSynthesys has bought Nautilus Mobile that is a gaming studio to expand its operations further. Real Cricket is the signature product of Nautilus. Real Cricket recorded over 120 million downloads and has 1.2+ crore monthly active users.
The startup has also co-founded Nodwin gaming to diversify its products and services globally.
Talking about the future of online gaming and the gamers, Navani said, “One shift to watch out for is the rapid acceleration of the pace at which gamers transition – casual gamers moving to the mid-core segment and mid-core ones to the core gaming kind of an experience.”
Sachin has informed the JetSynthesys management team that they should not limit themselves to the cricket category. JetSynthesys team has assured Sachin Tendulkar that his investment will be used to diversify the startup’s online gaming categories including digital products and platforms.
Sachin Tendulkar is showing a keen interest in the Indian startup ecosystem. Not only the online gaming association, but he has also collaborated with edtech startup Unacademy as a brand ambassador as well as a content creator.
