Short-video app Roposo has crossed the 100 million app downloads milestone. Currently, the app has 55 million monthly active users.
By the end of this year, Roposo plans to launch influencer-led commerce, said Naveen Tewari, founder and chief executive of InMobi, which owns Roposo ‘s mobile advertising network, Glance.
The integration of payments and logistics services on its website is in talks with beta partners. It will allow creators and influencers to sell their goods through this. Creators will also be able to post product reviews and will then be featured on mainstream e-commerce platforms through brand partners.
By pegging their sales on just advertising, no one can create a large business in India. What we call ‘influencer exchange’ would be the second type of monetization for us. On Roposo, we will harness our creators’ and influencers’ abilities to turn them into entrepreneurs. In a post-pandemic world, retail initiatives are particularly aimed at replicating offline commerce online.
Tewari said Roposo is training and leveraging established video creators on its platform (for the launch) for influencer-led commerce, and targets 10-15 well-known celebrities for the same. On Glance, which is the InMobi lock-screen advertisement site, the best performing and trending content and commerce on Roposo will be featured.
Glance has announced the launch of its ‘Danish Ki Googly’ 1st Intellectual Property ( IP) series on Roposo. The IP series features Danish Sait doing what he does best as a stand-up comedian, television host, radio jockey, actor, and journalist. Bringing together cricket and entertainment, he offers his take on cricketers, their field and off-field success, team owners, cheerleaders, the lack of viewers, the bubble, and who cracked it. As the cricket event kicked off on September 19, 2020, the series was released exclusively on Roposo @danishsait and Glance Lockfeed.
Roposo is available in English and 10 regional Indian languages, the app allows users to use short-form video content to express themselves and communicate with others. The powerful video production and editing tools of Roposo allow users to share their lives, showcase their secret talents, and express their views in their native language on relevant issues. With over 90 million users, Roposo supports more than 2 billion video views a day.
