In an all-cash agreement, Sirona Hygiene has purchased Impower, a women’s safety brand. The firm did not disclose the acquisition’s financial terms. Sirona, a fem-tech business that sells feminine hygiene products, will expand into the female safety area with the acquisition.
Deep Bajaj, co-founder and CEO of Sirona, said that the company will invest Rs 30 crore in Impower over the next two years.
“This acquisition is a natural extension of Sirona’s mission of creating a larger impact in society by providing awareness, education, and opportunity around all unaddressed issues – safety being one of them,” Bajaj stated.
In December, the Good Glamm Group bought a controlling stake in Sirona for Rs 100 crore in an all-cash purchase. Good Glamm has agreed to put Rs 100 crore ($13.5 million) funds towards the project, NBB had reported.
Bajaj believes that smart acquisitions and ramping up growth will help the company reach Rs 500 crore in sales over the next three years.

Impower makes pepper spray and is one of the top-selling brands in the category on eCommerce marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart, founded by Akshay Dua in 2018. Given how effective and accessible pepper spray is for self-defence in unfavourable conditions, the pepper spray market in India has seen substantial growth. The brand is a part of Donna FMCG Private Limited.
“Sirona has made great strides in the feminine hygiene category. Deep and his team have made lives simpler for women with their innovative products – the majority of which are habit-changing products but have been adopted at a mass scale, we need similar adoption for Impower and hence the alliance,” Dua said in a statement.
According to Impower, women’s safety has been a serious problem in India. According to the National Commission for Women (NCW), in the first eight months of 2021, there was a 46 percent increase in complaints regarding crimes against women compared to the same period last year.

For the last three years, Sirona has been profitable. In April 2021, the company raised $3 million in a Series A round from NB Ventures and IAN Fund.
