Working closely with its seller partners & logistics companies, Snapdeal has already sent out 97 percent of Diwali’s sales orders to fulfill orders in advance of the upcoming festivities.
An interesting trend that emerged this year is buyers from metro stations such as Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad and Kolkata using Snapdeal to send Diwali gifts back home in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh to their families.
These gifts were sent to small towns like Khalgaon & Sangrampur in Bihar, Tato in Odisha, Rampur in Himachal Pradesh, etc.
“The trend of users buying gifts on Snapdeal and sending them back home to their families is something that began last year and has risen sharply this year, according to Snapdeal. The number of such gifts has already tripled this year and we expect more such orders over the next few days. “Among the highest trend items for gifts sent home are clothing with sarees, sweaters and children’s clothing which accounts for the bulk of this and home-use products such as steel utensils, copper flask-tumblers, quilts, blankets, and bedsheets.
