Hygiene is the highest priority for new-age parents in today’s era. In an unhygienic climate, no one wants their child to be born. That is why people want to create a sanitized atmosphere around the expecting mother in the best way possible.
The Moms Co is a startup, which began back in 2016. For would-be mothers and newborn babies, it offers toxin-free products.
This helps to keep women at ease, emotionally and mentally. Even, for the health and well-being of infants, maintaining a safe environment and using non-toxic chemicals is called vita.
The Moms Co comes into the picture here. For all the new mothers out there, they have a wide variety of non-toxic items.
Experts around India, Australia, and Switzerland grow the company’s products. All of its ingredients are tested for toxicity against globe-wide databases. When the goods are manufactured, they go through stability testing to ensure that they are safe over varying conditions of humidity and temperature. In addition, goods are subjected to microbial testing to ensure they are free of heavy metals, mineral oil, microbial growth, etc.
The Gurugram-based venture is backed by angel investors including brand names from baby care spaces such as Shripad Nadkarni, Brand Mentor to Paperboat, Founder of FingerLix, former head of marketing at Coca-Cola India and J&J; Nandu Doreswamy Nandkishore, who has more than 25 years of experience working in the mom and baby segment across multiple countries as part of Nestle; and an undisclosed senior part of the group.
In addition to selling on its website, the business will soon be introduced throughout all major markets where moms shop. In the range of Rs 250 to Rs 700, the latest product offerings are priced.
Currently, mom-to-be and baby care have a market size of about Rs 10,000 crore collectively and rise annually at 20 percent. It’s also a category that is increasingly changing online, with moms investing a lot of time on online research and using marketplaces for their everyday shopping needs. In India, the mother-to-be room is in its early stages.
Malika Sadani, CEO, The Moms Co
Johnson & Johnson is the market leader in the baby space, but firms such as Himalaya and Baby Dove are also expanding their ranges in this space.
The Moms Co. has a horizontal approach as opposed to those vertical labels. The vision of the business is to grow as a one-stop destination for prenatal, postnatal, and baby care spaces.
The products are submitted to ensure that there are no irritants in them for dermatological evaluation. All the products are also certified toxin-free and made safe by Safe Cosmetics Australia. The Moms Co. relies on contract manufacturers who have over 30 years of experience in building products through organic, ayurvedic, and natural product ranges to ensure product protection.
When Mohit and Malika moved from London to India in 2012, they had a rough time with their daughter of the year. Their daughter was skin dry. Any time she was subjected to some chemical irritants her skin became red and itchy.
One day, Malika was advised by a doctor to use a strictly natural and healthy moisturizer. And in the end, it succeeded. But she couldn’t find any healthy and natural goods in here, so she had to import everything from diapers to soft fabrics.
She worked with over 200 mothers and realized that access to natural and healthy baby products is difficult for all other mums.
Thus, she decided to solve this problem and make it easy for moms to find high-quality products for their babies. Thus, The Moms Co was born.
