Vahdam India Recorded a 110% YoY Growth in FY21

People have become more health-conscious due to the pandemic. To strengthen their immunity system, plenty of people have recently started consuming wellness products. Vahdam India has benefitted a lot due to the demands of natural products. It crossed a Rs 159 crore net revenue mark in Financial Year 2021.

Vahdam India is a homegrown wellness brand that has included digital marketing practices to strengthen its operations.

Vahdam India’s Exponential Growth

The startup received an overwhelming response in FY21. Its revenue surged to Rs 159 crore in FY2021 compared to total revenue of Rs 75 crore in Financial Year 2020. The company recorded an exponential growth of 110% in FY2021. The startup plans to record total revenue of Rs 500 crore by FY2024.

Vahdam India offers a variety of teas and superfoods with 200 Stock Keeping Units(SKU) in its portfolio of products. To maintain the quality of its products, the firm produces all the items in-house. To do so, Vahdam has a 100000 Square ft area in National Capital Region(NCR). The factory is more than enough to manufacture the required products for the coming few years.

Vahdam efforts were recognized by Jeff Bezos, the richest person in the world. He gave Global SMB Award to Vahdam during his visit to India. Vahdam exports its products in the US market. As per the reports, the company received maximum revenue from US business. In 2020, the startup launched its products in India and got an overwhelming response from Indian customers.

Talking about the recent growth of the firm, Bala Sarda, Founder and CEO of Vahdam India said:

“The pandemic has accelerated our growth, given the shift towards high quality and trusted wellness products, larger adoption of e-commerce globally, and a more effective execution capability with a strong leadership team in place.”

He further added:

“We plan to continue to grow by focussing on three key growth triggers i.e going deeper in our current markets (USA, Canada, UK, Germany) and grow our omnichannel distribution, strengthen our presence in new markets like India and diversify into other relevant product categories.”

Funding Details and Social Purpose of Vahdam India

Vahdam started its operation in 2015. Within few years, the company saw an endorsement from global icons like Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Mariah Carey, and Martha Stewart, among others. The startup has raised a total of Rs 120 crore from different investors including Sixth Sense Ventures, Fireside Ventures, Mankind Pharma, SAR Group among others.

The startup is also known for its involvement in social welfare projects. It is also certified climate and plastic neutral. Vahdam contributes 1% of its revenue for the education of tea growers’ children. The company also has a tie-up with Byju’s for education-related projects. As per the collaboration, Byju’s provides free services to the children of tea growers for their upliftment.

Vahdam India has a huge customer base of 2 million worldwide. It claims to be India’s largest premium tea brand.
